Loving Dog Rescuer Bejewels Cones To Help Shelter Pups Get Adopted

Anyone with a dog or cat knows that there is a certain mourning period following their spaying of neutering. Not only is your little kitty or puppy growing up, they also have to sport what is commonly referred to as the "cone of shame" until they can be trusted to not lick their wounds.

Very few animals are immune to the cone of shame, but we can agree that rescue dogs have a way of looking especially down in the dumps after their important procedure.

When Erin Einbender, a volunteer at Chicago shelter, One Tail At A Time noticed this, she decided to take matters into her own hands — right after a trip to the craft store.

Her 'Cones of Fame' idea turns the cone of shame on its head by decorating the otherwise burdensome accessories.

Erin takes photographs of the dogs sporting their fancy new look and hopes that the photos will help get these pups adopted, as well as spread awareness around spaying and neutering.
