Though some folks dream of living in a giant mansion, there are those who prefer to minimize their space with a small, cozy home. And if they're really creative, they find a way to make that happen with plenty of style, like the people below who decided to spend their lives in converted bus homes!
You have to give them credit for making such petite quarters seem totally amazing — especially those with families or a few four-legged friends bunking with them.
Obviously, keen organizational skills are a must for everyone involved, something I know would definitely be my downfall if I ever tried to live in a converted bus home. It's a shame, really, considering how perfect these abodes are for people who love to travel (such as myself).

1. The Pucketts' 1990 Blue Bird
Andrew and Julie share their petite home with their adorable pup. I'm impressed they managed to make space for a full-size refrigerator and still keep the rest of the bus from feeling too cramped!
2. Sarah Haske's 1996 International AmTran Genesis
Sarah got some help from Charlie Kern for this beautifully designed home and studio for her custom hat business. She affectionately named the 40-foot vehicle "Lucy," and now travels across the country.
3. Andy And Amber's 50-Seater Volvo
The New Zealand couple was inspired to break away from the rat race of city life with their two young children after being trapped in a building during an earthquake. Now, nothing can hold them back!
The transformation from ordinary bus to traveling home is quite impressive.
4. Matt Aidney's 2004 Church Bus
Matt and his girlfriend Vieta originally intended to use the mobile home for tailgating, but instead took it for a three-month trek across the United States, and racked up a total of 5,843 miles and tons of amazing memories.
5. Zack And Annie's 2001 Thomas Saf-T-Liner
The pair from Arkansas sold their house to purchase the more compact digs and blog about their journeys at Natural State Nomads. I love how they decided to get more surface space in the kitchen by having the fridge lay horizontal rather than stand up vertically.
6. Christopher Stoll's 1988 Blue Bird
Christopher and his girlfriend Tori Edwards bought their bus from a church and spent four months completely renovating it on their own. They plan to live in it for at least a year while they travel the country.
7. Hank Butitta's 1998 Blue Bird
As an architecture graduate student, Hank got tired of drawing endless blueprints without ever seeing anything actually built. So, he impulsively bought this old bus and used it as his final thesis project before heading off on a trip across the country with a buddy.
8. Jade's 1989 International Harvester S-Series
The British Columbia native left his job operating his own property maintenance company to start building these small homes for himself and others. So far, he's transformed six busses including this earthy, wood-paneled one to live in himself.
9. Ashley And Dan's "Margaritaville"
The pair had already been living off the grid in a tiny 7-by-14-foot utility trailer before deciding they wanted something more mobile. So they renovated a classic yellow school bus they found on Craigslist. There's even enough room for their Alaskan Malamute pup, Nihla!
10. Justine And Ryan's International Harvester S-Series
The Texas couple spent nearly two years fixing up the broken down bus they purchased in 2017 and now use it to travel with their dog and two cats. They document their travels on their blog, We Got Schooled.
