Forget the Puppy Bowl or the Westminster Dog Show. The real competition is happening in Bedford Square at the Royal Corgi Race.
As the due date for The Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) approaches, a gaggle of corgis were brought together to help predict the new arrival's name and gender. The 10 dogs – renowned for being the Queen's favorite breed – battled it out on the mini race track and it was nothing short of adorable! (They're giving some tough competition to this dachshund race in Canada!)
In the video, the dogs are loving every minute of the race, tails wagging as they get ready for the big day. Each dog was given a name from the list of those speculated over for the future royal baby. Once on the starting line, the dogs take off in hilarious fashion as they race to the finish. You can't help but smile as these pups leap through the air and use their little legs to run as fast as they can!
According to the race, Prince William and Kate can expect a baby girl named Alexandra. She was first corgi cross the finish line, ahead of Camilla and Victoria, at 4.32 seconds.
At the end, Alexandra took her place on the winner's podium and was awarded a gold cup — and lots of kibble — for her win.
Get ready to smile. This might be the cutest thing you'll see all day.
Enjoy! And please SHARE this with your friends on Facebook.
