Casandra O'Neal was horrified. The mother was getting her three children ready school and daycare one morning, when she discovered the strangest thing.
“Casey got to the car and jumps in, I get about halfway to the car, and notice that there is a Kubota RTV caddy-cornered at the end of my car in the parking area, and I stopped and was kind of wondering where it came from," O'Neal said. "I went to the car and opened the door, and I found a man sleeping in my front driver's seat."
The mom knew she had to take action without waking the man up. She her 5-year-old daughter, Casey, 2-year-old son Alex, and an infant with her.
“I went into panic mode. I didn't want to wake him up, because I have two little kids, and you don't want to put yourself in a position for your kids to get hurt,” O'Neal said. “So I just told my daughter as quietly as I could to unbuckle, and I told her to run to the door to the house and I got my kids inside.”
The mother immediately called 911. Her daughter was spooked, but the plan worked. Once she heard the sirens outside she went out to speak with the police. The creep was still sleeping in the car.
As for the RTV? It is believed to be stolen from a local high school. The man was cited with disorderly conduct and taken to a hospital. He appeared to be intoxicated.
Boy, did this mom know how to keep her cool under pressure.
