This Street Musician Needs Nothing But A Table Full Of Crystal Glasses To Play ‘La Vie En Rose’

Street musicians possess the unique power to make people stop in their tracks and take a minute out of their busy days to do something incredibly simple: listen.

Take this video filmed in Paris for example. Street musicians are joined by three exquisite dancers in a subway station, and it makes for quite the spontaneous performance. So much so that people stop to appreciate their creative means of expression that effortlessly pours out of them.

Petr Spatina’s performance definitely has an enchanting quality that makes you unable to look away. From the moment this clip begins, I couldn’t believe that he was actually performing a cover song with glasses. I truly thought this was only possible in the movies.

The cover was of French artist Édith Piaf’s classic song, “La Vie en Rose,” and I’m pretty sure it’s never been played quite like that before.

He dips his index fingers into the crystal glasses and creates a magical sound just by rubbing the rims. Not only is it impressive, but it’s jaw-dropping to think of the science behind the sound generated from crystal glasses filled up at different lengths.

This clip is not only something special to listen to, but it’s also quite a sight to see.

Be sure to keep an eye on his fingers. The speed he has in jumping from glass to glass is incredible.
