Da Brat and her wife, Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart, share the first photos of their adorable newborn son, True Legend! The couple were a part of People magazine's new "My Extraordinary Family" feature, which will be in the issue that comes out on August 11, 2023.
The couple welcomed their baby on July 6, and Da Brat is still in absolute awe of bringing a child into this world — as any mother should be. “Look, this came out of my stomach,” she exclaimed as she pointed to her newborn, peacefully sleeping in her wife's arms.
“I’m 49, I’m high-risk, I have high blood pressure. So many women so much younger than me want kids and can’t have them, and I had a successful pregnancy,” she teared up. “It’s just an honor. He’s such a blessing.”
Judy, who already has three adult children from a previous relationship, encouraged Da Brat to be the one to carry their child. The rapper underwent IVF treatments, using eggs from her wife and sperm from an anonymous donor. She had a miscarriage initially, then later became pregnant with True Legend.

She delivered via C-section, and says she experienced no contractions, but only had pain while getting an epidural. “I never want to do that again, but for him it was worth it," she said. “I think God plans out our journey. I’m very happy He saw fit for me to have him.”
