Dad Dresses Up As The Naughty Version Of ‘Elf On The Shelf’

Every family has its own peculiar Christmas traditions.

And for all parents who plan yearly holiday trips and games — or, in the case of this couple, hilariously weird family Christmas photos — the kids are always the focus of the occasion.

Joe and Megan, a married couple from New Brunswick, Canada, have decided to play an adorable prank on their children for Christmas this year.

In the few photos that they've posted on Facebook since the end of November, dad has dressed up as the iconic "Elf on the Shelf."

Just like the original picture book character, the life-sized elf dad chooses to pose in a series of rather perilous positions.

We can't wait to see what other trouble this elf will cause in the days leading up to Christmas…

Scroll on down to follow these parents' hilarious Christmas journey as the famous naughty elf, and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Joe Wynberg, from New Brunswick, Canada, is a doting father of four.

To count down the days till Christmas, he and his wife Megan came up with the most hilariously elaborate plan of all time.

The pair were greatly inspired by the Elf on the Shelf, the genius main character from the 2005 children’s picture book by Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell.

In an effort to be as authentic and as true as possible to the original depiction, Joe will be donning this elf costume for the whole of December.

The comical parents have named the elf “FLE,” and have documented the elf’s journey on Facebook, with mom posting photos of him in a string of compromising positions.

So far, the elf has stuffed his face with chocolate candies from the Advent calendar and made a mess in the kitchen.

“The kids are going to be so surprised!” wrote Megan. “[The elf] will be in some pretty precarious spots over the next 24 days!”

They even scattered a bag of flour on the living room floor for the elf to wiggle in, so that he could happily make snow angels.

If you ask us, these parents did an excellent job in playing out the elf's quirky behavior!

Dad even sprung into action in a few risky shots, like this one, where he dangled from a single thread of Christmas lights.

In fact, the elf has been having so much fun that a tiny army of “reinforcement” had to be brought in to keep him under control.

“So [the elf] has been trying to get in the house all day. Then I found him doing this,” wrote mom on day five.

“I may have to bring him back in before the neighbors call the cops.”
