Rusted wheels don't strike most folks as anything other than trash.
However, when seasoned Instructables upcycler man-after-Gods-own-heart found a few old, forgotten wheels, he immediately recognized them as the perfect beginnings to his new patio furniture project.
Right off the bat, he took the two largest wheels, and fashioned them into legs of an adorable bench.
After enjoying the bench for a while, he tried finding a side table that matched his handmade bench's unique look and feel.
His search, though, proved unsuccessful. So, this DIY-er decided to revisit his pile of old wheels, and built himself the spinning wheel side table of his dreams.
Coated in a soothing shade of green paint and topped with a hand-cut piece of plexiglass, these tired wagon wheels suddenly came back to life with beautiful new purpose.
Now, this DIY-er's front porch has a cohesive, wagon-wheel-inspired setup, oozing with character and charm.

When Instructables DIY-er man-after-Gods-own-heart found a few old wheels lying around, inspiration struck.
First, he made a bench using old wagon wheels as legs, and then, spent quite some time searching for a side table to match.
When his search proved unsuccessful, he turned his attention back to upcycling. He spotted a few more old wheels, and immediately began crafting his ideal table design.
He started his project by grinding down a pipe to fit through the wheel's center.
These wheels, during their former life, spun round and round for some alternate purpose.
This DIY-er chose to carry this history over into his side table design.
He made sure that the table top wheel could easily spin around the table's central pipe, giving the piece a fun, dynamic quality.
Next, he welded a washer onto the central pipe, so that the wheel tabletop would have somewhere to rest.
To ensure his table never rolled away, this DIY-er welded two square pipes on either side of the base wheel.
Prior to welding, he gave the piece a hearty cleaning with a wire brush, so that the subsequent welding would hold strong.
All pieces welded in place, this DIY-er sprayed the entire table with primer.
After the primer dried, it was time for paint.
This DIY-er chose to paint his table a lovely shade of green, perfectly suited to life outdoors.
Once the paint dried, he topped his table with a piece of plexiglass. Then he secured the tabletop in place with a washer cover, and his upcycling project was complete!
Now, this DIY-er has a perfectly adorable side table to match his custom-made wagon wheel bench.
This table is a perfect height for resting your drink whilst relaxing on a warm summer day.
And it certainly matches its wagon wheel bench counterpart quite nicely.
This DIY-er even adds a bouquet of gorgeous flowers springing up from the table's washer cover from time to time, as another delightful touch.
This DIY-er transformed a few old wheels into an incredibly charming (and spinning) side table.
