Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" may have been released way back in 1971, but it's one of those songs that keeps getting passed down from generation to generation.
Much of that has to do with modern musicians, including John Mayer, who have performed covers of the timeless classic.
Now, Ed Sheeran is the latest to help keep the legacy going. He performed the song on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and nailed it. But, hey, did you expect anything less?
The performance will probably make fans love Sheeran a little more, much like the time he surprised a fan with an impromptu duet.
The "Thinking Out Loud" singer sang a soulful rendition while playing the guitar. Five other musicians also joined him on stage playing an array of instruments next to him, including a saxophone and a tambourine.
It's not surprise that many viewers praised Sheeran for performing such a legendary tune.
"Ed knocks another one out of the park. Though I love bill withers and no one can touch his voice. Much love," one viewer commented.
Another said, "I still have tears running down my face after watching this video. He is Ed Sheeran, and no other explanation is necessary. This is so gorgeous."
