Many marine animals are in grave danger, and unfortunately, it's usually due to the fault of humans. Our habit of polluting the oceans with oil and garbage has killed countless sea creatures, and although some measures have been taken to reduce pollution, they haven't been enough to save the countless animals that have been killed by ingesting, or becoming trapped in, trash that gets thrown into the sea. But a company called Saltwater Brewery has come up with a simple, but genius invention that might be the key to saving the ocean's inhabitants.
We tend to get excited about the latest high-tech gadgets that hit the market, but we should be more hyped up about all the things that are being created to help save the environment. For example, this brilliant invention turns your old plastic bottles into reusable, durable rope to keep your plastic garbage out of landfills!
Of course, it's even cooler to see new inventions that can directly (and sometimes immediately) save the animals that we love. This paraplegic turtle was rescued by prosthetic flippers, and now, sea turtles can be saved by Saltwater Brewery's eco-friendly (and stomach-friendly) six-pack rings. Not only do these rings decompose in the water, but they can also be eaten by the animals in the ocean. Unlike the traditional plastic rings that destroy animals' digestive systems and get wound around their bodies, these beer can rings are completely safe for the environment no matter where they end up.
If this creation seems too good to be true, then take a look at this video that shows just what can happen when these rings get tossed into the sea. Make sure to vote with your wallet and send messages to bigger breweries so that, eventually, plastic beer can rings will disappear entirely!
Make sure you SHARE this genius invention with everyone you know!
