The strange egg-shaped home is just 8'x15', but it's a powerful living space nonetheless. Known as an Ecocapsule, the egg is a portable and self-sustainable tiny house.
Unlike other tiny homes, it is completely powered by solar and wind energy. Not only is that great for the environment, it is also economical: No electric, gas, or even water bills.
The home collects rainwater and allows it to be filtered through the home's water system for drinking, showering, and other necessities. The home can also be used as a battery for an electric car. Most importantly, the inside feels more like a luxury hotel room than a makeshift home.
The small space comes built with room for two, including a cooking area, sleeping area, a bathroom complete with shower, and tons of storage. The small home is designed with the attention of living off the grid or on the road.
According to Inhabitat,"Its 9744Wh battery is powered by a 750W silent wind turbine and 600W solar outputs that enable it to operate completely off-grid. A dual-power system offers an additional source of electricity during periods without sufficient sunlight or wind."
The tiny home lifestyle certainly isn't for everyone, but for those who can afford to drop the £80,000 on the home, it does seem well worth it to ditch the utility bills.
