Herd Of Elk Causes A Traffic Jam In Colorado

It's that time of year when groups of animals make their way to better climes, and many places are witnessing seasonal migrations of animals like elk. One of those places? Estes Park, CO.

Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, so the residents around this area are quite used to seeing the elk out and about. But the elk pay no mind to the humans, and sometimes, they even get in their way! After all, the animals need to use the roads just as much as their human neighbors do.

That's what driver Brandi Applegate recorded while on the road. There's an entire herd of elk on the road, causing a traffic jam. Drivers find themselves having to carefully maneuver their cars around the organized herd, but only a few succeed in the short clip. One of the elk even turns around to stare down the car behind him!

But the entire herd isn't directly in front of Applegate. When she pans the camera to  the left, there's a surprise: more elk making their way up the street! It makes us wonder how many there were, but also marvel at how nature doesn't stop its cycle, even when faced with manmade obstacles.
