A Cop Changed A McDonald’s Worker’s Life With 1 Simple Move. Now Ellen Has A Surprise For Them!

When Jonesboro, AR police officer John Shipman saw a young man walking along the road at 2 a.m., he was a bit suspicious.

When he pulled over next to the man, college student James Taylor, he realized that he wasn't a threat and immediately offered him a ride home in his cruiser. The young man thankfully took the cop up on the offer and got in, the temperatures had dipped to just under 19 degrees, so any assistance was greatly appreciated.

It seems latley that police officers all over America have been dealing with a bad reputation, while a lot of people would like to assume that the cops are bad guys, they'll quickly forget that police are normal people, too! Like the cop who got in a friendly snowball fight in North Carolina, a majority of these cops just want to have an uneventful day and safely return home to their families.

It turned out that the young man who got "pulled over" had an amazing story to tell — and it all started with that one police officer's act of kindness. Since then, their story has been shared thousands of times, and they even ended up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show!

It really goes to show that one simple and kind act can go a long way. Make sure you watch all the way through to see the huge gift that Ellen gives them at the end of the video!
