Sometimes when we're talking to kids, we forget they don't have all the life experience that we do.
They don't know the difference between right and wrong yet. They need to learn more and go through their own trials and tribulations to figure that out.
They also don't always know why we do or say things (and sometimes neither do we). So when we make a joke, they might take it seriously.
And when we say things that are just simple expressions, they might think we're being literal.
Which is exactly what happened in this adorable video of a little boy and his dad, who happens to be a great coach.
When this little tyke lines up to the T-ball stand, his dad reminds him to keep his eye on the ball. We all clearly know that saying and understand the classic tip means to focus your vision on the ball.
But for a cute kid this age? He decides to just trust his dad's judgment, even if it doesn't make sense, and go for it.
He lowers his head toward the ball and really keeps that eye on there, and everyone bursts out into laughter.
Thankfully, people were recording him, trying to catch his first hit on tape, but they definitely caught something much better.
