Home improvement sounds like a complicated endeavor. With all the tools and supplies involved, it's sure to cost one a lot of money, time, and resources.
Right?
Wrong! One crafty home improvement aficionado found a clever way to hide the "ugly" linoleum floor in her bathroom at a much lower cost than what anyone would expect.
Susanna, the blogger behind Livin' the Life of Riley, isn't just a wife and a mother, but a lover of all "budget-friendly decor." When she came across an Instagram post by Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines, she knew she had to find a way to replicate the look in her own home.
In the post, Gaines shows off a beautifully tiled bathroom floor, with an intricate black-and-white design.
Susanna poked around on the internet to find out how she could recreate the tiles on a budget.
Now that the floor is complete, she has posted the results on her blog. It is absolutely stunning and looks just like the real thing!
Now scroll down to see how this awesome blogger turned her bathroom floor into a masterpiece.
A blogger named Susanna was left unsatisfied by the ugly and dreary look of her linoleum bathroom floor.
She saw the kind of tiles she wanted instead, and started researching how she could replicate the look for less. She found out that just a few materials, including stencils and chalk paint, would do the trick.
Susanna started by painting her bathroom floor black.
Of course, the project was time consuming: She needed more than one coat, and had to let each one dry.
Once she had enough black paint and covered the entirety of her floor, she started drawing out the design, using the stencil and painter's tape.
Once finished, the floor had been completely transformed.
It looks nearly identical to the design of the tiles used by Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines, from whom she got the inspiration.
Awesome job, Susanna!
