Upgrade Your Boring Bun With This Tutorial For A Fancy Lace Braided Updo

If you're like me and resort to putting you hair up into a messy bun on days when you're too busy to deal with your mane, then I've found the perfect alternative! On days when the boring morning bun gets a little tiresome, you can totally upgrade your look with a tight ballerina bun with a twist!

All you need is a donut bun ring in your hair color, one large hair tie, 1 smaller hair elastic, three or four bobby pins, a brush, a rat tail comb, and some hairspray!

First, pull up your hair into a high ponytail using the large elastic. Using the rat tail comb, divide the ponytail into two parts: one large, and one small. The small part should be at the base of the ponytail. Next, slip on the donut bun ring over the large part, and evenly drape the hair over the donut bun ring.

Find the small part not included in the donut bun ring, and start a Dutch braid, only adding hair to the "lace" section of the braid. This lace section will allow the braid to wrap around the donut bun ring.

When the last section of hair has been added to the braid, continue braiding the rest of your hair until the end and secure it with the smaller elastic. Then, tuck the braid under the laced braid, and secure it at its base with some bobby pins and hairspray! This will create the impression that one continuous braid is wrapped around your bun.

And voilà! This fancy upgrade of a go-to look is easy and fun, and doesn't take long to do!
