It was mortifying at first. The father of the bride takes the microphone in the reception. Seconds before he's supposed to do the honorable father-daughter dance. He says, he just couldn't bring himself to dance to the song his daughter had picked. What was going on? Was Dad being weird? Petty? What was happening? It wasn't a disagreement, so much as it was a surprise. The father wanted to do something special for his little girl, so he wrote her a song.

While moving out and starting a new life can be difficult for us, it’s important to remember that it’s just as hard on our parents. This dad realized that he wasn’t saying goodbye to his little girl, but welcoming the beautiful woman she had become.
