Two girls under 12 were leaving a restaurant together when a strange man approached them and began to follow them, ostensibly to "supervise" their walk home. The girls didn't know the man, and they immediately felt like something wasn't right.
The man started hitting one of the girls in the back of the head, so they got on their bikes and began to pedal toward a nearby church.
Officer Jessica Lang explained, "He did not know these children and these children definitely did not know him. At this point, he's following them out of the restaurant and starts to hit one of the children over the head and continues to follow them."

She continued, "Thankfully these children stuck together and rode their bikes to a nearby church and asked an adult for help."
The unidentified woman told local news, "I saw two children on their bicycles and a male adult behind them."
She added that one of the girls silently mouthed, "Please help me, this is not my dad."
The woman continued, "He was kind of talking over her, right behind her, putting his arm around her neck and saying something in her ear, saying, 'We just moved here, we just want to see how we can help do whatever you're doing.'"
The woman explained that she tried to play along, inviting the three into the church. She said, "I engaged in conversation with him. I said, 'Oh that's nice, where did you move here from?' He said, 'Oh, I am not really sure.'"
Soon, she was able to call 911.
David Daniels was arrested on two counts each of false imprisonment of a child and child abuse.
The woman told local news she wants to be anonymous. "I don't want any recognition for this," she said. "I don't want to be a hero. I just did what I hope anybody would do for my own kids."
