German Shepherd Rescued After She Was Stuck On A Highway Median For Five Weeks

There is almost nothing sadder than reading about an abandoned animal. For every sad dog video I see on Facebook, I need to watch at least five videos of animals being reunited with their owners. Dogs being reunited with their military parents are the absolute best videos to watch if you need a dog-related pick-me-up.

Thankfully, the story of "Freeway Frida" has a happy ending. Frida, an adorable German shepherd, seemed to have fallen from a truck five weeks ago and since that sad day, many drivers have called the police to report her. To drivers on Highway 99 in Galt, CA, Frida appeared trapped on a strip of the highway median. For weeks, the LAPD tried to rescue Frida, but the poor frightened pup managed to elude them.

Police say it wasn't easy to rescue her, as Frida seemed very scared. But luckily, they were able to grab her before she could get away again, and now she's being treated at VCA Bradshaw Animal Hospital in Elk Grove. Despite being trapped for so long, Frida was able to take care of herself, and doctors say she's doing very well, all things considered.

Watch the video below to see Frida's rescue and to hear how she's doing now. Don't forget to SHARE this amazing rescue story with your friends and family!
