9-Year-Old Opens Nail Salon In Her Front Yard To Raise Money For Charity

When I was younger, my neighborhood had annual garage sales that always had a great turnout. One year, my best friend and I decided to get in on the action by selling those super-cheap push-up ice pops for 50 cents apiece. Considering they can be bought for about 10 cents, and that our parents bought them to begin with, we figured it would be a great way to turn a profit.

Unfortunately, everyone else also knew how much cheaper they could buy them at the store and didn't pay us much attention despite the hot day. Maybe if your intentions were a bit more altruistic, we would have had karma on our side. Instead of saving up for the newest 'N Sync album, or whatever we had our eye on at that age, we probably should have been like the little boy who sells history lessons so he can donate his earnings to local veterans.

The young lady in the clip below is just as charitable, but her product is much different: manicures! Nine-year-old Rhuin set up shop in her front yard soon after moving to the new area when she was bored and hoping to meet her neighbors. Charging just $1 for her work, she has gotten a lot of attention for her impressive business.

And as her mom, Sarah, explains, the family plans on giving every cent to a worthy cause. It's always amazing to see younger generations show initiative and ambition like this, especially when it's for such a kind-hearted reason.

Take a look to hear from the little entrepreneur, and be sure to SHARE her story with your friends!
