A few years ago, Gary Lenon's wife asked him to build her a bench on their 44-acres of land so she could meditate.
Instead of just a bench, Gary decided to build his wife a tiny white chapel and completed the project in 2014. The chapel is so tiny that it's the smallest in all of Michigan.
"I pointed out in the yard to my granddaughter's old playhouse that I had built for her years earlier and I realized I could turn that into a prayer chapel," Gary told LittleThings. "We opened the doors to neighbors and visitors so that they could also use it."
Gary and his wife have allowed visitors from all over to come to the chapel to take photos, pray, and meditate. The chapel is open every day and the family has even put a sign out so those looking for the pint-sized chapel don't accidentally drive by.
"This quaint building is a prayer chapel on our farm and we use it daily," the wrote on Facebook. "Many in our neighborhood stop by to pray for a sick friend or relative. Most simply stop to take photos and sign our guest book. There is absolutely no charge to stop for a self-tour."

About three years ago, Gary Lenon's wife asked him to build her a bench so she could meditate outside.
Gary went one step further and built an entire chapel for her.

The Rimwood chapel sits on the couple's 40 acres of land in Hersey, Michigan.

The chapel's Facebook page describes it as a: "6'x8' and has an interior finished with knotty pine, carpeting, a two-person pew, pulpit and a stained glass window."

Here, you can see the stained glass window artwork.

Gary put a sign out front for visitors who were having a hard time spotting the tiny chapel.

People from near and far come to visit the building and the family welcomes people of all faiths to check it out.
"Not sure how many have actually visited because we charge no fee and only recently added a guestbook," Gary told LittleThings. "I can say that many people have stopped and taken photos inside and out."

What started as just a place for his wife has turned into an attraction for strangers all over the place.

The chapel has attracted more visitors after it was added to the Roadside America website.

Gary uploaded this photo of the chapel with a beautiful rainbow overhead.

"She loves the way her little playhouse has turned into something special," Gary told LittleThings about his granddaughter, Morgan.
One thing's for sure, Gary's decision to build a chapel instead of a bench for his wife turned out to be something that created memories for hundreds of people.
