Chef Sticks Rock Candy Onto A Blue Wedding Cake For A Stunning Geode Design

When it comes to cake decorating, the possibilities are endless.

In this cake tutorial, Jenn Johns shows us how to make a Geode two-tier wedding cake. By carving a large indentation into the center of the cakes, Johns creates a beautiful design using rock candies to portray the crystallized feature of a hollowed rock. The design looks like a giant crystal, and it’s quite jaw-dropping.

Her meticulous skill and prowess make this design look mega simple to try at home. Not going to lie, I kind of want to stock up on rock candies now and try decorating my own homemade sweet treats after watching her.

Her detailed design reminds me of this baker’s very realistic portrayal of a dragon. It’s pretty amazing what one can do with a bit of frosting, fondant, and creativity.

What makes this design so believable is the use of the 100 percent edible gold leaf. The gold leaf brings the geode design to life, so much so that I want to reach through my screen and touch it.

What a beautiful concept with such great precision and execution. This is, without a doubt, one of the best cake designs I’ve ever seen.
