I’m sure many married couples would agree that after saying “I do,” certain aspects of the relationship tend to change — sometimes because one or both partners get a little too comfortable.
George Lopez hilariously discussed these changes in a skit from his 2012 HBO stand-up special It's Not Me, It's You. While he wasn't as displeased with marriage like some others tend to be, such as Jeff Dunham’s grumpy dummy Walter, Lopez expressed a very comical frustration.
The longtime comedian spoke about a sometimes-embarrassing habit that some women pretend not to have before becoming a Mrs., presumably out of fear that their partner will get turned off. Before marriage, he said, some of them do all they can to conceal their nighttime problems.
But, after they take their vows, it all changes: these females show their true colors.
“The minute you get married, the minute you say 'I do,' they do," Lopez joked.
Yet, in another moment, Lopez also offered some kind words of advice to people thinking about taking that next big step: "When you decide who you want to spend your life with, make sure it's somebody who loves you for who you are, and what you are, and your good side, and your bad side," he said.
