German Shepherd’s Paternal Instinct Toward Kitten Will Make You Melt

The Beatles got it right when they sang, “Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends,” as it rings true for an adorable German shepherd that helped a fluffy kitten in need.

When Tennyson, a paternal German shepherd, and Moo, a scrumptious, little kitten, come together and walk up the stairs, you can almost hear this classic tune in your head. First, Tennyson encourages Moo to keep climbing up the stairs, showing him the way by motioning up the stairs and giving him a little nudge with his snout.

The tiny fluff ball then hesitates and struggles to get to the top. So Tennyson lifts little Moo up as if it were his own little pup, and safely brings him to the top of the staircase. Oh, but that’s not all… after bringing Moon to safety, Tennyson lies down next to Moo and appears to gently nuzzle the little fella.

This bond proves that cats and dogs can get along — and help and love each other. We’ve seen this with the incredible gesture made by a pregnant rescue dog that acted as surrogate to six orphan kittens in need.

The heartwarming moment between Tennyson and Moo is especially precious as Tennyson is so large compared to little Moo, whose black-and-white fur appropriately resembles a little moo cow. Can you get any cuter? Geez!
