Swimmers and sunbathers at a popular riverside beach in Siberia received no warning before natural disaster struck down on them on a sunny, mid-summer day! You can only imagine the shock of lounging in the sun, when suddenly temperatures dropped close to 20 degrees and golf ball-sized hail came down pouring from the sky. It was a hot day in
Siberia's largest city, Novosibirsk, on Saturday, July 12th, when suddenly natural disaster struck on the Ob River. Swimmers ran for the shore and people cried as they tried to cover themselves from the painful hail described by one sunbather as "bullets from the sky". Siberia is known for its ice storms, but they are extremely rare in the summer. The intense wind also threw people for a loop, as their beach gear went flying. The freak storm left a sheet of ice on a nearby field, which melted minutes later. A woman can be heard on camera saying "If we die, I love you". I can not imagine the terror going through their minds!
