Some mornings, I can't decide whether or not I want to let my hair down, or if I want to pin in up. I've experimented with this retro bun, and then again with the easy faux-waterfall headband, but I still have trouble finding the style that gives my hair both the length and volume I want without using a ton of product.
It seems I found the solution, and it was right under my nose all this time! Half-buns are all the rage now, and I found the perfect little twist on the popular style that suits my taste. All you need is an elastic, a rat-tail comb, and some bobby pins.
For this hairstyle, you don't want to use too much hair, or your half-bun will be too big. Take the hair located from mid-eyebrow on both sides of your face, and scoop it all up in your hands. Before you tie it with the elastic, tease the base of your half-ponytail with the rat-tail comb. Next, tease the rest of the half-ponytail before twisting the entire length of hair. Wrap the twisted hair around itself, and pin the very end under the bun you just created! The half-bun should sit comfortably on top of your head once you secure it down with the bobby pins!
This hairstyle really has the best of both worlds!
