Back in 1964, the legendary folk duo Simon and Garfunkel recorded one of their most famous songs of all time. The tune has easily stood the test of time, and has since been featured in many classic films and hilarious television shows.
The song itself is a disturbing reminder of how, in our society, we may be surrounded by thousands of people, but that doesn't mean we're truly with them. The absolute inability to communicate emotionally, as well as intellectually, have made love and respect in our society a tough thing to achieve.
That sentiment from the 1960s has remained more or less the same despite our many advances as a society. Even though we can talk to our loved ones thousands of miles away in an instant, it still seems that something is lacking in spite of it all.
But one surprising aspect is how this slow and deadly quiet song touched the heart of one of the loudest and hardest heavy metal singers of all. Disturbed's lead singer, David Draiman, has recorded a cover of this legendary song and added his own special twist to it.
While the "rock" version of this song might not be to everyone's taste, you have to admit he captures the raw and intense emotion behind the lyrics. This man really does the cover justice, which has surprised just about everyone who's listening to it!
