Heroic 10-Year-Old Girl Dies After Saving Two Toddlers From A Runaway Vehicle

We generally consider self-sacrifice as an adult's "job." We hear about men and women who are mothers and fathers who give everything up for their kids. Then there are firefighters and police officers whose job is to protect us. But once in a blue moon, an individual willingly puts their life on the line for another, without even thinking twice.

Ten-year-old Kiera is one of those heroic people we can only one day aspire to become.

The little girl was playing with two toddlers, 1-year-old Adison and 2-year-old Emma,  when an SUV shifted in neutral, and started rolling in reverse down the driveway. Kiera, noticing the vehicle, pushed the toddlers out of the way in the nick of time. But she couldn't get away in time. The SUV struck her and pushed her through a fence. Paramedics arrived, but Kiera died on the way to the hospital.

Now she's being remembered by family, friends, and neighbors as a hero. But to the parents of Adison and Emma, she's nothing short of a guardian angel.

The thankful mom says, “She is truly a hero. She will forever be my kids’ guardian angel. She saved both my daughters' lives. These are my two kids that I have and both of them could’ve been gone in an instant, and she stepped in and took over and did what she knows best to do — and that’s to protect those around her."

If you want to help the family through this difficult time, you can donate to the GoFundMe page set up in Kiera's name.
