The Hilarious Memes Keeping Us Sane During The Great Quarantine Of 2020

Keeping a sense of humor is incredibly important when it comes to getting through life's more challenging moments. Right now, across the US and the entire globe, people are feeling stressed and worried. In the face of the unknown, we immerse ourselves in the news and stay as connected as possible. But the best medicine is, and always has been, laughter. Luckily, the internet always pulls through and keeps us laughing, even when it feels like the world is burning.

Thank goodness for creative people with their fingers on the pulse (or the keyboard), because can you imagine living through a pandemic without memes that make you double over, then DM to five friends? While it seems outrageous to laugh at a time like this, it's also a healthy release. We sorely need to chuckle now more than ever. Whether we're laughing at our bad coping strategies and the ridiculousness of trying to work and homeschool our kids or we're cracking up out of pure and utter boredom, it's the best cure-all there is.

Here are 10 hilarious memes that are basically getting us all through life right now:

Sitting on the couch has never felt so noble! Right now, while you might feel lazier than you've ever been before, the good news is that you're actually doing exactly what you need to do. Grab the ice cream and the foot massager. You're basically a hero!

Holding my breath the entire time

A post shared by Neat Mom (@neatmom) on

Grocery shopping is basically terrifying in 2020. You're holding your breath. You're trying not to touch anything. And you're praying that you don't run into anyone you know with your four-day-old greasy hair bun and your not-so-cute face mask. But hey, this look is pretty on trend for the foreseeable future.

WE'RE DOING THE BEST WE CAN!

This little guy really nails it, though, doesn't he? Because as the saying goes, "It's OK to not be OK." Most of us are pretty comfortable acknowledging that right now. Multiple breakdowns per day are basically our new normal, and we are not ashamed.

Forever social distancing @griffinameen

A post shared by Lola Tash and Nicole Argiris (@mytherapistsays) on

Well, everyone can't be a people person. While most of us are missing our social connections, this quarantine may have taught some of us that we're pretty OK with social distancing. Like … permanently.

OK, so maybe we won't have the vacation of our dreams this year, but we can still enjoy the little things, like the rinse cycle. At least it kind of sounds like the ocean, right? It's not much, but it's working with what we've got. Sound machines are helpful, too.

We're not exactly going anywhere for a while. So what do you wanna talk about? What do you need? A drink? An appetizer? A five-course meal? Seriously. Let us know. We've got time to waste.

Doesn't it seem like every single thing we want to do involves one of these places? Well, at least we're all collectively learning to enjoy being home more. Or we're collectively learning how to embrace cocktail hour on our couch. Either way.

Things are getting pretty casual up in here.

We really were trying at first. We really were. But let's face it, it's time to lower our standards now, though, right? How long has it even been since we've been home? Weeks? Months? Years?!!
