As a child, one of the best parts about summer is hearing the music of the ice cream man's truck.
I used to run down the street with a couple of dollars in my hand to chase after him. That is, after I convinced my mother to give me the cash in the first place. I used to sit on the sidewalk and devour my favorite ice cream sandwich.
Sadly, not every kid gets to enjoy this. Sometimes, the ice cream man just doesn't drive by their house. But for those children who do have an ice cream truck by their home but can't afford the treat, it is a heartbreaking sound to hear.
One man is working to change this for any child who doesn't have the money for one of these cold snacks. James the Ice Creamcycle Dude has begun an amazing chain of paying it forward.
He's seen the sadness on a child's face when all of their friends are eating ice cream, but they don't have the dollar to buy something. To help these children out, he has them complete small tasks. They pick up litter, solve math problems, and now, many children are writing thank-you notes to the people who donate money to James for this project.
