Prisoners Go To Work With One Guard Watching, Then Band Together When He Faints In Front Of Them

When a guard at a Polk County, Georgia, prison started feeling unwell, he trusted a group of six men to help him if he needed it.

The six men were inmates and the guard was overseeing their work duty of maintaining a cemetery when he told them he was feeling unwell because of the heat.

Soon after, he collapsed on the ground. The inmates sprang to action, but they didn't take advantage of the situation — they helped the guard. Instead of reaching for his gun, they took his cell phone and called for paramedics. They then tore open the guard's shirt so it would be easier for the paramedics to perform CPR once they arrived.

The guard was taken to the hospital, and though he doesn't recall much of the incident, it's clear the inmates are the heroes in this story.

One of the inmates, Greg Williams, says that he and the five others were concerned for the guard and that it wasn't about who was in jail and who wasn't.

To reward them for doing the right thing, the officer's family treated all six of them to a pizza lunch in the park. But more importantly, each one of their sentences was reduced by one-fourth!
