If you’ve had a cell phone for a while now, chances are you’ve accidentally broken or lost it at some point. I’ve gone through more than I’d like to remember over the years, but I like to think I’ve learned my lesson and keep it safe and sound.
That’s why I have one of those “everything-proof” cases to try and play it safe when it comes to my iPhone, but I often wonder how well it actually works. Luckily, I won’t have to test it out anytime soon, because two brothers have successfully proved that owning the right waterproof case is completely worth it if you have an active lifestyle.
In the following video, Gregory Papardin can be seen snorkeling on vacation with his brother in Menorca, Spain. Confident in his LifeProof for iPhone case, Papardin jumps into the water and then attempts to throw his phone to his brother on their boat. Seeing this terrible moment brought me back to a time I did the same exact thing with my watch years back, and it’s just as painful today. However, as you’ll soon see, Papardin got extremely lucky with what happened next.
The iPhone recorded its trip to the ocean floor and didn’t stop there. It captured snorkelers and fish swimming above it and it even caught the moment the boat’s captain swam down to the sand to recover it. Maybe in the future we’ll have gadgets like this one and won’t have to worry about losing our phones in the ocean, but until then, hold on tight!
