When 21-year-old Jasmine Leigh Morris stepped on stage to audition for the X Factor U.K., it was unclear whether or not she’d nail her performance.
Similarly to the longtime backup singer who doubted himself, Morris didn't seem so confident. Judge Simon Cowell even asked her whether or not she was. But, once she started belting the notes, her distinguishable vocal ability impressed the judges and the audience alike. (I'm sure it will leave you in awe, too!)
Morris sang Emeli Sande’s “Clown” and effortlessly hit every high note. Just listen to the one at the 1:28 mark – it even made tough Cowell raise his eyebrow in surprise.
The judges all seemed pleasantly delighted, much like the time a 17-year-old performed a faultless rendition of Jackson 5′s “Who’s Loving You.” Cheryl Fernandez-Versini couldn't stop clapping, while Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw nodded in approval.
As for the audience members, they all gave the Welsh singer a standing ovation. The overwhelming response left Morris in tears.
She also quickly gained many fans. Some of them took to Twitter to compliment the budding star, including one who said, "Agree with Simon in that there is definitely more to come from this girl. Could be a real talent we have here."
