Buccaneers’ Shaquil Barrett’s Wife Breaks Silence Regarding Daughter’s Drowning

Jordanna Barrett, the wife of NFL star Shaquil Barrett, has broken her silence regarding the death of the couple's 2-year-old daughter. Arrayah Barrett, who had just turned 2 a few weeks before, drowned in a swimming pool at the family's house. Jordanna shared a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram remembering her daughter.

Jordanna shared a photo from Arrayah's 2nd birthday. "Thank you all for all the messages, flowers, thoughts and prayers. Our world will never be the same," the post starts out. "Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers. I love you so much my baby. I am so so sorry."

"Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always. I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything," the post continues. "There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.

The comment section of the post is turned off, but fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker have shown an outpouring of support under older posts. Shaquil had recently shared a photo on Arrayah's birthday. He captioned the image, "Happy 2nd bday to my cutie girl. So sweet and cute. You made our family complete. I love you baby girl #TGBTG #BIG2."

The NFL star has yet to break his silence over the drowning incident, but you can tell that he absolutely adores his kids. Jordanna often shares photos of him being an amazing father.

"Happy Father’s Day to the man of my dreams, and the best daddy in the world! We love and appreciate you so much," she wrote in a post last year for Father's Day. "Thanks for being the absolute best example for our boys, and our girls! You’re our provider, our builder, our keeper, and our safety! We are so lucky to have you! I would choose you over and over and over again! I love you! Happy Father’s Day baby! ❤️."

Arrayah tragically drowned on April 30 at the family residence. Tampa police confirmed that they received a call regarding a child who had fallen into a pool before 9:30 a.m.

Jordanna linked to an obituary in her bio. "Arrayah’s smile brought so much joy to anyone who encountered her. Everybody knew that Arrayah had her daddy wrapped around her finger and was the sunshine in her mama’s eyes," it read. A private funeral service will be held for her on May 5.
