Little Juliana Dionisio looked like any other girl her age, but there was something hindering her from feeling her best.
At the bottom corner of her right eye was a bright white mass and it was taking over her vision. The eye tumor wasn't only hurting her chance to have clear vision as she grew, but it was also hurting her self-esteem greatly.
One day, Juliana wanted everything to change and knew she had to act on her own. She wrote up a letter pleading for help and wishing that her eye tumor would be gone. It was all she truly wanted.
Luckily, a surgeon named Dr. Donny Suh read her wish and decided to make it come true out of the kindness of his heart.
Juliana traveled from Guatemala to Omaha, Nebraska, to meet Dr. Suh for her surgery.
"She was really sad," Dr. Suh explains in the video below, posted on April 4, 2017. "Being a young girl like this, with a mass like that coming out of the eye — I mean it can really scar you."
They went through with the procedure and young Juliana came out with a whole new outlook. Her vision slowly improved, as did her self-esteem and confidence.
Although she will never have perfect vision, Juliana is grateful for the vast improvement and thankful for the surgeon who changed her life.
