She Waited 5 Years For Her Long Hair To Grow Back After Being Diagnosed With Cancer

No one in the history of Earth is ever happy to be diagnosed with cancer. It's one of the scariest things a doctor can tell you, and it requires one of the most aggressive treatments for a disease. There's not a guarantee the treatments will work, and there's a ton of pain and suffering along the way.

One thing is for sure: you have to be really strong when battling against cancer.

You have to have a strong will to survive, you have to be a fighter, and maybe most importantly, you have to know how to keep a positive outlook through the entire thing.

Without seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it's going to be a more difficult fight.

When Laura was diagnosed, she knew that she was eventually going to lose her hair from the chemotherapy. She never really cared all that much about her hair to begin with, but when you find out you're going to lose something, especially something that will take away a sense of normalcy? That's a big blow.

Laura had beautiful long hair before chemo, but cut it off right before her treatments started. It took a bit for her hair to really start falling out, but eventually, she was totally bald.

Five years after originally being diagnosed, her hair is back to its original length, and she is in remission. What does her hair mean to her now?

Every millimeter represents being that much further away from the illness.
