Lisa Marie Presley — singer, songwriter, and talented daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley — has died. She was only 54 years old.

Earlier Thursday she was admitted to the hospital after suffering a cardiac episode, and her mother released a statement to People magazine.

"My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy at this time."

We have since learned that Lisa Marie has died. Her mother released another statement to People confirming the loss of her daughter.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," Priscilla said.

"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."

Lisa Marie Presley was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 1, 1968. This was a mere nine months after Elvis and Priscilla got married. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 4 years old, after her parents divorced.

Lisa Marie shared two children with ex-husband Danny Keough — daughter Riley and son Benjamin. She also leaves behind twin 14-year-old daughters, Harper and Finley, with ex Michael Lockwood. We are sure she will be missed.
