Lying Cop Tries To Outsmart Camera-Wielding Uber Driver Who Turns Out To Be A Lawyer

Recording an interaction with police officers has become a common thing lately, especially since there have been numerous sketchy incidents involving the police. Whenever someone does get pulled over and starts to film, we always hear the officers tell them to stop filming. That exact thing happened in this video, but this cop didn’t truly understand exactly who he was talking to.

Defense attorney Jesse Bright got pulled over in North Carolina while moonlighting as an Uber driver. Once he got pulled over, he took his phone out and started filming. He allegedly got pulled over for picking up a passenger from a known "drug house." The cop told Jesse to stop filming, but he didn’t — even when the officer lied to him saying it was illegal to do so.

In Jesse's video, when the officer asks, “Hey bud, turn that off ok?” Jesse calmly replies, “No, I’ll keep recording. Thank you, it’s my right.” The officer then asks him to not record him, but Jesse quickly fires back with the statement, “I will, look, you’re a police officer on duty. I can record you.”

After Jesse tells the officer he can legally record him since he is a policeman on duty, the officer quickly goes over to Jesse’s side of the car and tells him to turn his camera off or he'll take Jesse to jail.

The cop tells Jesse, “There’s a new law, you’re not allowed to record me.” After that statement, Jesse quickly asks the officer, “What is the law?” This frustrates the officer even more, causing him to ask Jesse to step out of the car.

Acting confused, just like everyone else watching this video, Jesse questions why the officer would arrest him for just sitting in his car. He then informs the officer that he is recording in case anything happens since he is surrounded by five police officers.

The officer then tells Jesse that he is being a jerk and that he better hope they don’t find anything in his car. Jesse quickly cuts off the cop, telling him that they are not going to search his car. Jesse eventually tells the cops that he is a lawyer and even offers his bar card to the officers as proof!
