December is definitely the month that gets me thinking about gingerbread houses.
It gets me thinking about holiday recipes in general, but making gingerbread houses is something that is very uniquely holiday in my house. I remember when I was in elementary school, we used old milk cartons to make gingerbread houses, and while I don't remember ever creating a work of art, eating the thing afterward was definitely its own reward!
As an adult, I've been a little hesitant to create my own gingerbread house this year because the idea of baking it, and then icing it, is a little overwhelming. But in this video, Gemma the baker explains the perfect way to create a gingerbread house that not only tastes great, but actually really looks impressive! I'd be proud to have this as a holiday centerpiece – and then really excited to eat it.
