Mom Of 2 Proudly Breastfeeds In Her Local Mall While Out Shopping With The Kids

As far as we’ve come in terms of raising awareness about breastfeeding, there are still a few misconceptions in dire need of change.

Of course, it's no secret that most moms are on the go these days.

Whether they’re working full-time, part-time, or simply have a thousand schedules to keep, they simply don’t have the opportunity to lounge around pumping milk — especially not when so many other activities take up their precious time.

What’s a mom to do when she can’t do it all? There’s a new invention currently making its way around the country that might provide a little bit of relief.

"I think it's an amazing thing," said Amanda Decker, who used the new lactation suite available to moms shopping in the Independence Center mall. Perhaps if Dillard's had installed something similar, this mom wouldn't have been kicked out. Without secure spaces, women run the risk of being harassed simply for feeding their child — and that's not OK.

Too small, you say? Trust us: it’s much bigger on the inside. From offices to airports, these facilities are popping up all over, and we're excited to see how they turn out!

For more on this incredible product that everyone’s been talking about and how it all came together, read on.

You might have even seen these suites around your local community. They're popping up everywhere!

This is Christine Dodson and Sascha Mayer, two working moms who successfully managed to balance their careers and children for years — except, there was one very big problem.

"After having pumped at trade shows, airports, corporate retreats, baseball games, and even the back seat of a male client’s car, we decided enough was enough," they wrote. That’s when they put their plan into action — and they wanted to help make life easier for other moms, too, not just themselves.

So, they launched Mamava, a revolutionary new invention that created a safe, secure place for moms to breastfeed in public spaces without having to pump.

"We have never wanted to hide breastfeeding," the women said. "Our goal is to do just the opposite by raising the profile of this natural human function and celebrating the realities of the logistics involved in taking on breastfeeding."

Look how many people the Mamava facility can fit inside! That’s four mothers, eight kids, and one baby. But if that doesn’t convince you, the hundreds of testimonials that are pouring in from moms everywhere might.

"Every day, we receive tweets, emails, and Facebook messages from moms thanking us for what we do," they reported. "There’s nothing more rewarding."

It’s not as cramped as it might look, either. The Mamava station is big enough for Mom, baby, several kids, and plenty of shopping bags to fit. Dodson and Mayer have thought of every possible snag in their idea, and I’m sure it will only get better as time goes on!

"We hope there are many to come!" They said regarding new products on the horizon for moms.

What about the babies, you ask? They're definitely loving Mamava, too! Any quality time spent with their mom is a good thing, and sometimes, just taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the shopping mall can provide both with some much-needed downtime.

It's difficult being a mom on the go, but with this new invention, things just got a little bit easier! I'd recommend watching the video below for more information.
