Do you have someone in your life who just never seems to stop burping? There may be a medical or even mental health-related reason for all that flatulence.
This clip shared by the Discovery Life channel on YouTube shows how a man’s constant burping completely disrupted his life, to the point of him contemplating suicide, and what was actually behind the odd ailment.
Ron was living a happy life with his wife, Sue, and working on building his plumbing business when the excess burping began. At first, he was able to control things while he was working and with customers, but things quickly got out of hand.
“I would belch for 20 to 30 minutes, then I would not belch for maybe an hour and then start up again,” Ron explains. He notes that the belching would even happen in the middle of the night and disturb his and his wife's sleep.
Things would get so bad sometimes during those late-night hours that he would go out on his porch to try to relieve the gas and wake up his neighbors with the sound of his intense burping.
During this time, Ron saw multiple doctors, who continually told him that they couldn’t find anything medically wrong with him that would cause the nonstop burping.
After a particularly rough time in which Ron thought about ending his life after another trip to the ER, he was finally assigned a mental health support worker, who diagnosed him with a rare form of generalized anxiety disorder combined with depression.
