We are used to hearing about police officers and firemen rescuing people from dire situations, but it's even more shocking when it's just an average person saving the day.
That was the case when a 19-year-old woman got caught under a train in Chicago. The woman, who reportedly fell onto the tracks after sitting on the platform, had no way of escaping.
A man named Justin Schneider, who happened to be a passenger on the train that day, did all he could to bring her to safety. The moment was all caught on camera — and it's just as incredible to watch as the strangers who helped a wheelchair-bound man after he fell onto the train tracks in the Washington, D.C. area.
“I heard the conductor blowing his horn nonstop. The conductor opened the car and he was very upset. He was tearing up. He had stated that we had a jumper at that point. I made sure he was OK. I told him to sit in his chair and relax," he recalled to CBS Chicago.
After leaving the train, Schneider continues, "I heard a woman’s voice saying, ‘Hello, hello,’ and I looked and I couldn’t see anybody and then I saw her hand coming up from underneath and that’s when I jumped into action."
