Dolores Diaz Lopez was walking down the sidewalk with her kids in Queens, New York. They were headed to go see her husband at work — but instead, a terrifying incident was captured on surveillance video.
Out of nowhere, a man jumped out of a parked maroon car, grabbed Diaz's 5-year-old son Jacob, and rushed him over to his vehicle.
Diaz's motherly instincts kicked into high gear.
According to ABC 7, "Diaz said her son initially sat down in the back seat, but after she and her children pleaded for them to give the boy back, he stood up."
"You have to do what's necessary, no matter what," Diaz told the news station.

According to reports, the 24-year-old suspect has since been arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping, reckless endangerment, and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17.
