Shocking content is easy to find on the internet. It's virtually everywhere. But shocking content with some semblance of a happy ending? That's a little harder to find…but when we do, it's always a joy to highlight.
What you're about to see in the below video is absolutely shocking. It's terrifying and heart-stopping and will probably make you gasp. Hang in there for the whole thing though because you'll see that protective gear (and a whole lot of luck) can make a huge difference in situations like this.
In the video, you'll see a first-person perspective as a motorcycle rider waits at a red light. He's wearing a camera on his helmet, so we get to see exactly what he sees.
As the light turns green, the biker begins to move across the intersection when, before he can react, a car going perpendicular to him blows their red light and slams into the side of the motorcycle, sending the biker flying into the air.
The most amazing thing, however, is that not only do we get to see the biker's perspective from his helmet cam as he flies into the air and spins around, but he actually lands on his feet! It is one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen.
After landing on his feet, the biker assesses his damage and realizes that, while his beautiful motorcycle is destroyed, he is relatively unharmed. Landing on his feet certainly helped, but it's the fact that (as he says in the YouTube video description) he was wearing all his protective riding gear that allowed him to walk away with only bumps and bruises.
The biker doesn't say what happened to the driver that hit him, but we sure hope they were at least ticketed for driving through their red light.
If you want to see photos of the damaged motorcycle, the YouTuber posted some here, but it's not a pretty sight if you're a motorcycle fan.
It's an absolutely crazy video, but it's such a relief to see this man walk away from a life-threatening accident.
