Everyone loves playing dress-up as a kid. You get to put on an outfit and for a moment, you become someone else, like a daring adventurer or a powerful ruler.
Plus even adults know that some seriously awesome clothing makes you feel, well, seriously awesome. Whether it's your favorite sweater or a pair of bold heels, wearing something you love can really make for a fabulous day.
And for Nephi Garcia's three kids, that day is every day. Garcia is a fashion designer who has worked in the industry, but since starting a family, he found that working in the fashion industry just wasn't giving him joy.
And if there's one thing that's brought generations of kids joy? It's Disney, and especially the cast of Disney princesses that never fail to capture imaginations.
Everyone has their favorite princess (or in the case of five-year-old Ainsley, a favorite hot dog), and that's exactly where Garcia looked for some new inspiration.
Today, he's created tons of costumes for his kids, as well as for kids and adults all over the country, based on Disney characters. He creates the stunning gowns completely by hand, and embellishes them with gorgeous fabrics and notions.
Check some of them out below, and you might find yourself wishing for a princess gown of your own!

Nephi Garcia, fashion designer and father of three, creates these stunning costumes for his kids based on Disney characters, but adding even more detail and sumptuous flair.
Check out the beautiful lace on Alice's pinafore, for example.
Or the luxurious sleeves on this adorable mini Snow White gown.
He's created costumes for just about every Disney character, including non-princesses, and he's skilled at creating things besides gowns, too, like Ariel's shimmering mermaid tail.
And his designs can get amazingly clever and creative.
This gown was inspired by the scene in Disney's Cinderella where Cinderella's bird and mice friends make her a gown.
As you can see, he's designed it to look unfinished (in a nice way, of course), and has even included some "flying" bird friends to hold up parts of the fabric!
Here, his kids model the costumes seen at the end of Cinderella, during the wedding scene. And notice that those bird friends have returned.
The great thing about his gowns is that they're instantly recognizable, but he puts his own creative touches on them to make them truly unique and sophisticated.
Oh, and that belle gown? It's actually two gowns in one. Check out this video to see Garcia's real genius.
And he lavishes the same attention to detail on costumes for other characters, too. The fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty have beautifully crafted gowns and hats.
Other beloved characters get some love, too, like this pint-sized Mary Poppins.
Making these, even relatively simple designs like this one, are no small feat, but Garcia is fast. He can complete a child's costume in under six hours, and an adult costume only takes him about two days. That might seem like a long time, but when you consider the detail, it's super fast!
And Cinderella's fairy godmother.
Even the wicked stepsisters and stepmother inspired Garcia, who created these over-the-top ball gowns to contrast with Cinderella's torn dress.
After all, sometimes it's just as much fun to be the villain as it is to be the hero, right?
And now that Star Wars is part of Disney, he has a lot more inspiration to work with, too.
Oh, and his costumes? They come in adult size, too. Commence drooling.
