Man Sees Cockatoo Perched Strangely On Pink Bar, Then Realizes His Right Foot Is Caught In Net

It was a bright and sunny day in Australia when a man and a woman spotted something very unusual going on in the grass.

Andrew Melrose and the woman behind the camera had received a call about a bird stuck in a net, but as they got closer, they realized the victim was a white cockatoo.

In the video below, posted on February 28, 2017, the duo walks up to the struggling bird and gets down to his level.

The woman says, "Hello, mate!"

Andrew approaches the bird and goes, "Aw, isn't it cute?"

"Aw, you're stuck there," the woman points out. When the cockatoo starts wriggling around, she adds, "Hang on, we'll get you off."

As the man and woman get started with their wire-cutting tool, they realize other cockatoos are watching nearby. They are probably hoping their friend can be saved during this cockatoo rescue.

The woman continues cutting and finally, the little guy's foot is free from the net that has been holding him down for so long.

Andrew examines the cockatoo's foot to make sure he isn't injured. "No cut into the skin or anything," he says. "He's looking pretty good."

Next, Andrew is sitting on the ground holding the bird under a towel following the cockatoo rescue. He explains, "You know what, he's actually pretty thankful for what we did for him."

Andrew prepares to release the cockatoo back into a large tree with his friends and family. To see what happens next, check out the video below and please SHARE this cockatoo rescue if you're glad that people like Andrew take time out of their days to help animals!
