Chopper Four, the news helicopter for KFOR news in Oklahoma City, was already in the air. Pilot Mason Dunn and managing editor Steve Johnson were responding to various news events as they broke across the region.
Suddenly, a call came in from the local police department. Mason and Steve were more than up for the task at hand.
The reporters learned that authorities were looking for a man who'd gone missing about 20 hours prior. There was a strong chance he was somewhere in the North Canadian River.
Mason and Steve flew the chopper along the river until they made it to an extremely remote area — so remote, in fact, that the official search and rescue crews couldn't even find it.
Meanwhile, David Stokes could hear the helicopter flying above. He was trying desperately to keep his head above the water, and he was praying that whoever was in the chopper had spotted him.
