Slain Cop’s Colleagues Dance With His Daughter On Her Wedding Day

For Kirsten, wedding planning was a bittersweet experience to say the least. The ceremony recently took place at the beautiful Kelley Farm in Bonney Lake, WA, but one of the most important people in the world wasn't there: her father.

In 2009, Kirsten's father, Deputy Walter "Kent" Mundell, Jr. of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, was killed in the line of duty. When it came time for Kirsten to plan the traditional father-daughter dance six years after her father's passing, she didn't know quite what to do. That's when local law enforcement officers stepped in and did something so incredible that it's now going viral.

Seattle Police Det. Don Jones walked Kirsten down the aisle. During the reception, three Pierce County sheriff's deputies took turns dancing with Kirsten. With each new dance partner came more tears, more memories, and more emotion.

Photographer Angela Lyons shared her photographs on her Facebook page, and it's impossible not to be touched by the moments she's so beautifully captured…

The ceremony, which took place at the Kelley Farm in Bonney Lake, WA, began with a silent tribute to Kirsten's dad. A chair was placed in the front row, dedicated to the fallen hero.

Kirsten's wedding gown was laced with blue ribbons down the back, an amazing tribute to her angel in blue. Deputy Mundell was there with his beautiful daughter in spirit.
