This is one of the most intense graduation ceremonies we've ever seen!
In New Zealand, the haka, a traditional dance/war cry, has become a popular part of the country's modern society. Although the Maori people, who created the haka, have dwindled in numbers, this routine remains a fixture at different events throughout New Zealand.
In fact, the country's soccer team often performs one of these intense battle cries before facing their opponent, and the Haka often acts as a way to get people excited and engaged.
So, it should come as no surprise that when this class of New Zealand police officers graduated from the academy, performing a haka was how they chose to celebrate. In a group of more than a dozen new officers, the freshly graduated class bands together to chant and move in unison. After all, is there any better way to show the world that you mean business than to act out an entire battle cry?
There's no doubt that many things have changed since the Maori people did the very first haka, the love and respect that people have for this beautiful ritual has remained the same.
Hopefully, this haka will give this bunch of officers an extra pinch of good luck as they make their way out into the streets.
You may have seen lots of hakas, but you've never seen one like this! Watch the video below to see these officers do their thing.
