This Man And His Dog Stand Up To Bullies By Doing The Unthinkable. Just Amazing.

On April 16, 2007 like so many Americans Bob Votruba's heart shattered when he heard of the horrific shootings that ended 32 young lives on the Virginia Tech campus. The father of three went into a deep period of reflection and began to think about his life, the world, and his role within it.

Feeling unfulfilled Bob set out, along with his Boston Terrier named Bogart, to give his life some meaning and in hopes of inspiring a "Kindness Generation" of young people across the country. Bob created One Milliion Acts of Kindness, which is more like a community goal rather than a organization. The concept is pretty simple, he wants every person to individually perform one million kind acts in their lifetime. Why? He feels that it will not only start a fire from within you, but it will also remind the younger generation that they are good, they are worth it, they are loved. In Bob's own words, "let them know they are part of something new, something bright, something bold."

As he states on the One Million Acts of Kindness page, "It is my wish that you will dedicate your life to a charity… finding the passion in your heart for something or someone in need."

In order to make his dream a reality, Bob bought a bus and set out on the open road to complete a 10-year journey of kindness. He has been hitting up college campuses across the country hoping to spread the kind message and crate an army of kind souls.
